School Supplies
Just a reminder that school supplies are being provided for the 2026-27 school year. Students will need to provide headphones and a bookbag.
Save the Date – Community Day
Save the date: The annual Community Day event will be held on August 8th at the middle school from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. This event is sponsored by Family Connection. Watch for more details coming soon. Community Day 2026
Helping Hands Summer Meals Program
There have been a few delays in the Helping Hands summer meals program.
If your delivery date is Thursday, you should have started receiving meals.
For those on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, your meals will start next week.
Unfortunately, Monday deliveries will be the following week.
If you signed up and have not been notified of a specific pick-up date, you will be able to pick up meals from the multi-purpose building (old elementary school). You will receive a message with the details next week.
Food Assistance Resources
If you are struggling with a lack of food due to the Helping Hands meals delayed delivery, please reach out to Kasey Taylor, our parent mentor, to assist you with this. She can be reached at ktaylor@oglethorpe.k12.ga.us.

Out-of-County Tuition
Out-of-county tuition has increased for the 2026-27 school year. This is due to cuts in federal funds. The amount for the year is $4,605. This can be paid in two installments of $2,302.50.
Residency Audits

Open House will take place on August 5, 2026. The times are below:

Summer Office Hours
The elementary, middle, and high school offices are now closed for the summer. Central office will remain open each day throughout the summer, however, we will be closed Friday June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
This will be my last Patriot E-News. It has been a pleasure to serve as the superintendent in the Oglethorpe County School System for the last 11 years. I wish Dr. Powell much success in his new role.
