We are pleased to announce that transportation will now be available from the middle and high school to the Patriot Health Hub on Mondays and Thursdays. The bus will depart at 12:45 p.m. and return students to school by 2:30 p.m. This service may be used for behavioral health appointments or medical visits. If you have questions, please contact the school nurse, or call Kristina Turner at 706-743-8128, or email her at kturner@oglethorpe.k12.ga.us. You may also contact the Patriot Health Hub directly.
Our amazing board were celebrities as they conducted school visits at the transportation department and the middle and elementary schools. They were recognized as Coach, Mimi and the Rodeo Clown! However, we know them as our Exemplary Board of Education!

This is Kindergarten Round-Up week! Kindergarten visitation for the 2026-2027 school year is this Friday, March 13th!
If you have not yet registered, please visit https://tinyurl.com/OCSSenroll for all requirements and to enroll! You must register and complete all forms online prior to being able to schedule an appointment for Kindergarten Round-Up, Friday, March 13th!
If you are having trouble with any of the Kindergarten paperwork, you may come in-person for help, Wednesday, March 11th! Drop-in at the Board of Education office from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm at 735 Athens Road! 706-743-8128
The Patriot Health Hub, our School-Based Health Center, is also holding a limited amount of immunization appointments on Friday, March 13th, during Kindergarten Round-Up for any families wishing to take care of any needed immunizations while visiting that day!
Current OCES Pre-K students do not need to register for Kindergarten but do need to have all paperwork completed!
Our Pre-K through 2nd Grade students will be dressing as their favorite book characters tomorrow! Parents who want to watch the parade can follow the guidelines below. Teachers will be preparing for the parade in their classrooms and our hallways will be lined with our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, so we ask that our visitors remain outside.

Sneaker Ball!
Oglethorpe County Schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow. Thank you to all those who played a part in keeping us safe and warm during the ice storm. Looking forward to having everyone back in our buildings tomorrow.
Although road conditions continue to improve and the main roads look good, there are still too many back roads and dirt roads that remain too icy for our buses to safely transport students. Therefore, Oglethorpe County Schools will be closed for students on Tuesday, January 27.
Teachers and paraprofessionals will observe a workday from home. All staff should watch for an email with more information.
Out of an abundance of caution, Oglethorpe County Schools, offices, and the Patriot Health Hub will all be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the forecasted winter storm that will impact our community. All extracurricular activities through Monday night have been cancelled. Stay safe and warm!
