PATRIOTS VOLLEYBALL WIN in a nail biting 5th set! Congrats to the players and coaches! Thanks la to the fans for your AMAZING SUPPORT!

Looking forward to seeing you at a packed OCHS gym at 1:00 pm today for the sweet sixteen matchup with Armuchee High!

🏡 The senior homestead exemption on the ballot was created to help our senior citizens (67 years old or older) manage school taxes.
If approved, it will help Oglethorpe County seniors keep their school property taxes from going up when their home value increases.
Their school taxes would be “frozen” at the value of their home when they qualify (base year)— meaning future value increases wouldn’t raise their school taxes.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to a board member or call our central office at 706-743-8128

Good afternoon,
This is just a reminder that the new Wednesday schedule begins tomorrow.
Wednesdays Schedule Details
• Dismissal: High school students will finish at 2:32 p.m.
• Bus Riders: Buses will pick up at the high school first, then the elementary school, and finally the middle school. This means that all students who ride the bus will likely arrive home about 10–15 minutes earlier on Wednesdays.
• Car rider pick-up for OCHS will be at 2:35 pm on Wednesdays. If you are not able to pick up your child at this time, they will attend a study hall until the normal pick-up time of 3:15 pm.
• Student Drivers: Students who drive may leave campus at 2:32 p.m.
• Athletes and After-School Activities:
o Students who do not drive will remain on campus and attend study hall in the cafeteria until practice or their activity begins.
o Students who drive may either leave and return for practice or stay on campus and attend study hall until it starts.
o If students stay on campus, they will be required to attend study hall.
There is no change to the end of the day at the middle or elementary school. The only difference is that students will get home earlier on Wednesdays, due to high school buses loading first. This change will not affect staff children who are dropped off at a school.
We appreciate the high school's efforts to think creatively and provide valuable collaboration time for teachers without adding additional staff or losing instructional time. We appreciate your flexibility as we make this commitment to continuous school improvement.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Early voting starts today in Oglethorpe County. There are two items from Oglethorpe County Schools on the ballot.
The first item for voters to consider is the continuation of the local ESPLOST. Please see the flyer for information m
The second school related item is property tax relief for seniors in Oglethorpe County.
If you have any questions about these items please reach out to our Central Office or any Board of Education Member.
By law the school system can’t tell you how to vote, but it is important to note, that this a continuation of the existing one cent tax. If this SPLOST does not pass, the funds usually raised by SPLOST will have to come from the tax payers in the form of increased bond taxes.
