Our 8th grade Careers & Leadership class got a taste of the real world through an updated, realistic version of the Game of Life. This room transformation paired nicely with a budgeting lesson they did previously. Thanks for the life lessons from Mrs. Barnes!

Our OCMS PTO is sponsoring an online spirit store for OCMS/OC apparel. See the pic for details. The online store closes on December 16th. Unfortunately, items won’t ship in time for Christmas, but you should get things in plenty of time before the warm weather returns. All items come in red, white, or blue. Go Pats!

Congratulations to these awesome students who were selected by their teachers for the Patriot Pride luncheon for the month of November for being examples of well rounded students in & out of the classroom.

Ms. Denney's, Ms. Kirk's, and Mrs. Ballew's class went on a Community Based Instructional trip recently to UGA. They visited historic buildings that were significant to the Civil War, talked about post-secondary school options, and investigated public transportation options. They also took time to ring the chapel bell!

Kudos to Ms. Serrian and her 6th Grade, Jazz, & 7th/8th Grade Combined, & 8th Grade Bands on an awesome Fall Band Concert Tuesday night!

Mrs. Barnes’ 1st semester 8th graders in the Careers & Leadership Class participated in mock job interviews this past week. Students were asked several job related questions and presented the interviewer with their job application. Thank you to our community members who volunteered their time to help with the interviews.

Our OCMS FCCLA attended Fall Rally at the Georgia National Fair in Perry on this past week. During the trip, they networked with other members from across the state, participated in community service outreach efforts, accepted recognitions for one competitive event, and attended the fair.

The end of the quarter means it’s time to see Mrs. Serrian’s 6th & 7th Grade Ukulele Class Recital!

Our amazing Teachers of the Year were recognized at the Board of Education meeting last night.
Congrats to Adriane Echols (Primary School, Leanne Carter (Elementary School), Jill Barnes (Middle School), and Erin Bunch (High School) on being selected as the Teacher of the Year at their respective schools.

📣BONUS WEEK! 📣Our OCMS Patriot Color Run was such a huge success we decided to keep donating open for one more week! With your help, we can EXCEED our goal and make an even bigger impact on the lives of our students at OCMS. Thank you for all of your support! 🙏❤️

Our OCMS Cross Country team had a great run at the Braves Invitational at Council Farms in Milledgeville, GA Saturday morning! Jonah Burke medaled in 6th place running with 90+ male runners. Meadow Nimmons medaled in 10th place against 100+ female runners.

THANKS so much to the donors, students, parents, parent volunteers, & teachers for making our Fall Fundraiser & Patriot Color Run put on through MyBooster.com! Our kids had a great time today & we raised a lot of funds to be used for the fun stuff we do at OCMS!
Our donor page ( at MyBooster.com) will be open for the next few days if you missed out on helping. We met our goal of $5,000 resulting in sliming Mrs. Casper. Mr. Baldwin can still get turned into a human ice cream sundae if we get to $8,000 before the window closes.
